I am trained in Classical Hatha Yoga from Rikhiapeeth, India. This style of yoga is steeped in tradition and incorporates chanting (mantra), selfless work (karma yoga), introspection (jñana yoga) and devotion (bhakti). These become important aspects of one’s lifestyle, in addition to having a regular physical asanas practice and specific sadhana.

For 5 years before I attended the Yoga Teacher Training Certification program, I studied various texts, read extensively on Yoga Philosophy from many different writers and thinkers and brought myself to a point where the teachings would have an impact on my life and my classes. I still continue to be influenced by the learning from the YTTC.

Yoga Sessions

In regular yoga classes I like to accommodate atleast 3 (sometimes 4) of the 8 angas or limbs of Raja Yoga, as described by Patanjali. Asana (physical posture), Pranayama (expansion of Prana through breathing techniques), Pratyahara (withdrawal of senses) and Dharana (concentration techniques) are an integral part of each session.

Health Therapy Sessions

As a trained health therapist, I am happy to share my knowledge of natural therapies with you. I trained at the Ananda Marga Yoga Wellness Center, Cebu, on the various therapeutic effects of Natural Health and healing through fasting, easy-to-do natural treatments and the use of common sense.
